Our first product line is a filament-based system using standard 2.85mm filament. Filament feeding is advantageous in that it provides precise volumetric control and retraction capablities. Also, there is a wide variety of filaments readily available and it is easy to switch materials in the system.

The Sculpman nozzle squeezes the circular filament to a rectangular ribbon in the heated zone. This results in a larger and thinner surface area in contact with the heater, improving heat transfer and completeness of melting.

We offer this system in a 0 to 10mm opening configuration with a cross-section of either .5mm or 1mm. The cross-section is what limits the possible layer heights you can use. Typically one can go as low as 1/5th of the cross-section and up to 100% of it.

The system can be ordered with or without extrusion drive subassembly, as well as in bowden configuration. We can supply optimized realtime controller electronics and very effective annular cooling options. But we are just as keen on integrating the bare nozzle hardware with your choice of electronics and machine/process options too.
